Models / Glim

Glim The everyday one.

Glim is the model you talk to. It reads the mail your Mac already has, finds the bill, sets the reminder, and asks before it ever goes online. Two sizes, one home.

Availability and price

Glim is in private beta on Apple-silicon Macs. Glim Fast runs on any Mac with 8 GB or more. Glim Deep wants 16 GB. Windows and iPhone come after the Mac is right.

When Glim is sold you pay once for the app and own it. If you ever stop paying for updates, you keep what you have. The price is set with the first public release, and beta members hear it first.

There is no API and no cloud. Glim is a file on your disk, served by open tooling. Nothing you say goes through us.

What it is for

Mail and bills

Glim reads the mail your Mac already has, finds the invoice, pulls the amount and the date, and puts the reminder where you will see it.

Documents

Drop in a contract, a PDF from school or a 40-page report. Glim Deep reads the whole thing and answers questions about it, on your disk.

Everyday writing

Replies, summaries, a note to the landlord in the right tone. Glim Fast answers faster than you can read.

Memory

Glim remembers what you tell it, in a file you can open, edit and delete. Not a profile on a server.

Search, with permission

When Glim needs the web it shows you the exact question first, with names and numbers removed. Nothing leaves until you tap Allow.

Speed

Words per second, generating a reply, on three Macs.

MacBook Air numbers are measured on our own Air with the model files we ship. MacBook Pro and Mac Studio are estimates scaled from memory bandwidth and are marked as such; they are replaced with measurements as we test on each machine. Glim Deep keeps 96% of the full-size 27B model's score on our everyday-task set at a seventh of the size.

Trust

Glim runs on your own machine. Chats, files and memory stay on your disk, encrypted. The only thing that can ever leave is a search question, after names and numbers are removed, and only after you tap Allow. We cannot read your data because it never reaches us. Every model in the family ships with a plain-words note on what it can and cannot do, and the open weights it is built on are credited on this page.

Questions

When should I use Glim Deep instead of Glim Fast?

Fast for anything you want right now: a reply, a quick answer, a summary. Deep when the task needs thinking: long documents, tools, multi-step work. Deep is about four times slower and needs a 16 GB Mac.

How much does Glim cost?

The beta is free. At public release you pay once for the app and own it. The number is announced then, and beta members hear it first.

Which Mac do I need?

Any Apple-silicon Mac with 8 GB runs Glim Fast. Glim Deep wants 16 GB and may get warm on a fanless Air. A MacBook Pro or Mac Studio makes both faster.
